Inter Miami 2024 MLS Season Prediction

In 2023, Inter Miami won their first-ever silverware thanks to a grand performance from their star man from Argentina – Lionel Andres Messi. After he picked up an injury, the club trembled and lost their spot for the post-league MLS Playoffs Cup. What can Inter Miami achieve for 2024? Can they finish in the top nine? Let’s see what the MLS Soccer itself predicts.

Inter Miami falls under the Eastern Conference of the MLS, so here are the predictions for that:

  1. Columbus Crew

  4. Atlanta United
  5. Inter Miami CF
  6. Philadelphia Union
  7. New England Revolution

  10. New York City FC
  11. Chicago Fire FC
  12. CF Montréal

Inter Miami Friendly Fixtures and Results

Starting their preseason on November 11, 2023, the South Florida club faced New York City Football Club in a friendly and followed a rather lackluster run in their friendlies. The club was missing out on its key players and the preseason results should be taken with a pinch of salt for the prediction. Anyhow, the following is the full list of Inter Miami’s friendly fixtures:

  • Inter Miami 1-2 NYCFC
  • El Salvador 0-0 Inter Miami
  • FC Dallas 1-0 Inter Miami
  • Al Hilal 4-3 Inter Miami
  • Al Nassr FC 6-0 Inter Miami
  • Hong Kong Team 1-4 Inter Miami
  • Vissel Kobe 0-0 Inter Miami (Vissel Kobe on the penalties)
  • Inter Miami 0-0 Newell’s Old Boys

Who is Inter Miami’s Best Player?

The answer is obvious: none other than Inter Miami’s talisman – Leo Messi.

The impact of his signing can be seen in sports and off the pitch as well. The massive rise in the number of followers after the Argentine joined the club in the South of Florida. Apple TV has sold more subscriptions since he joined Inter Miami and MLS.

That was for off the pitch. On the pitch, the guy achieved a massive feat by winning Inter Miami their first-ever piece of silverware in the form of the Leagues Cup. He kicked the ball in the net ten times in just seven appearances. And that free kick? Mamma Mia.

Apart from his goal-scoring in the League Cup, Messi had 11 goals and five assists to his name in the MLS season. Later, he picked up an injury and was sidelined on and off for the remaining season.

What does Tata Martino Have in His Plans for Inter Miami in 2024?

The former manager of the Mexican national team was appointed a little bit earlier than Messi’s arrival at Inter Miami. He, also, managed Leo Messi in FC Barcelona but that time was short and he ended up getting fired from the job in under a year.

That was the past. For now, the Argentinian manager is doing okay with Inter Miami. He won the League Cup and had been testing two formations: 4-3-3 and the other one is 3-5-2.

He has a lot of quality in the front with Lionel Messi, his buddy – Luis Suarez, and another Leo with Leo Campana. As for the midfield, he has one of the best defensive midfielders of all time – Sergio Busquets along with Diego Gomez, Gregore, and Benjamin Cremaschi.

The problem lies in the back. He has good wingbacks at his disposal but not the full-backs. As we have seen with Alba, making dreadful errors when it comes to the defense. The center-back positions are also somewhat lacking with not enough depth.

But still, I believe that they(the inter Miami) can perform well because of the supreme quality in the final third of the pitch. Lionel Messi and Suarez’s link-up play is amazing and both have one of the most lethal finishing. One can question their athleticism but apart from that they can prove to be game-changers for the club in South Florida when together.
